As an Advanced Senior Carer, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care while supporting complex clinical interventions such as enteral feeding, airway management, oxygen therapy, and other specialist care tasks in line with your training and competencies. You will act as a role model for the team, mentoring carers, promoting safe practice, and ensuring care is delivered to the highest professional standards.

The role involves providing hands‑on care, supporting clinical interventions in line with training and competencies, and ensuring that care plans are followed accurately to meet each child's individual needs.

You will act as an experienced member of the care team, supporting and guiding other carers, particularly newer staff, to ensure consistent standards of care. This includes sharing knowledge, offering practical support during shifts, and promoting good practice within the team.

The role also involves working closely with families, maintaining clear communication, and helping to create a stable and supportive care environment. You will be expected to recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a child's condition, to raise concerns when necessary, and to keep accurate and timely documentation.

You may also support the coordination of shifts and day-to-day operational matters, helping to ensure continuity of care and effective teamwork. The role requires strong professionalism, reliability, and the ability to remain calm and confident when managing complex or challenging care situations.
