Trader Compliance Analyst / Administrator
Location: London
Client: Luxury Fashion Brand
Rate: £150 per day PAYE
Contract: ASAP - March 2027
PURPOSE
To assist in the delivery of the Trade Compliance Strategy and ensure day-to-day compliance with cross-border requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customs Compliance Administration
1. Advise customs brokers on clearance instructions, including commodity codes, Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs), and any specific import restrictions for products.
2. Provide accurate commodity codes for Luxury Fashion Brand products to the business and associated carriers.
3. Ensure accurate customs data is included on invoices submitted to authorities:
4. Liaise with internal teams including Sourcing, Product Development, and Global Logistics to understand product and shipping requirements.
5. Provide accurate data to the business.
6. Develop a working knowledge of the IT software solutions used by the business, namely MIC and SAP.
7. Manage CITES/non-CITES documentation and processes across the business, advising on requirements.
8. Maintain metrics reflecting key Trade Compliance areas, including duty spend, number of customs entries, and customs audits.
Preferential Origin / Free Trade Agreement Management
9. Manage Luxury Fashion Brand's process for requesting LTSDs from vendors.
10. Audit and review current LTSDs to ensure vendors remain compliant.
11. Investigate opportunities for Luxury Fashion Brand to utilise Free Trade Agreements and provide accurate advice on preferential origin requirements to the business.
Projects
12. Assist in projects aimed at improving customs compliance, automating processes, and optimising duty payments.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
13. Compliant customs submissions into key countries, including the UK and Italy.
14. Maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
15. Successful continuation of EU and UK preference of goods.
QUALIFICATIONS
16. Good academic qualifications.
17. Institute of Export Exams (or equivalent).
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
18. Basic understanding of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, Incoterms, and customs warehousing preferred.
19. Logistics or customs brokerage experience preferred.
20. Good administrative skills.
21. Basic SAP knowledge preferred.
22. Intermediate Excel skills.
23. Good standard of English.
24. Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
25. Strong communication skills, particularly with commercial functions.
26. Strong attention to detail.
27. Demonstrates initiative and the ability to meet deadlines in a diverse environment.
28. Italian language skills would be an advantage.
