GP for Crewkerne, Somerset (Salaried or Employed)

Symphony Healthcare Services (SHS) are looking to appoint a GP for Crewkerne Health Centre in Crewkerne, Somerset.

Join one of our many innovative primary care / general practice providers - Health Centre in Crewkerne, Somerset.

We have 4 sessions available with a competitive scale of sessional pay rates. Starting salaries will be offered based on experience and will consider the GP role undertaken within the practice.

Crewkerne Health Centre is a friendly practice in a semi-rural market town location, supported by a network of practices, allowing GPs to focus on patient care.

SHS is the largest GP provider in Somerset, benefiting from shared learning and best practices across 16 practices.

We have fast transport links to London, Bristol, Exeter, and Bath by rail or road. Bristol, Bournemouth, Southampton, and Exeter International Airports connect Somerset to the world.

The town offers cafes, restaurants, shops, leisure facilities, and excellent private and state schools. More information about living and working in Crewkerne and Somerset can be found via the attached link.

Main duties of the job

As a SHS GP, you will undertake all clinical duties typical of a primary care GP, without the responsibilities and risks of being a Partner.

We offer roles from salaried to employed and consultant levels, depending on experience and responsibility.

All GPs are paid as Employees, providing less risk and more focus on patient care. Our GPs work flexibly, contributing to areas like QOF, QI, training, and research. Salaried GPs have a defined job plan detailing hours, responsibilities, and tasks.

We support career development through annual appraisals and encourage GPs to extend their roles or utilize specialist skills in primary care.

Some GPs may prefer to remain salaried, while others may aspire to more responsibility or consultancy roles over time.

About us

Established in 2016, SHS is part of the Symphony Programme Vanguard, developing innovative models of care.

SHS operates practices autonomously under NHS Somerset Foundation Trust, with central support for HR, finance, and management.

Our vision is sustainable primary care for Somerset and a national exemplar for primary care provision.

Working at scale allows development of specialist skills with organizational support. Benefits include:

* Flexible roles and working options
* A mentorship scheme for newly qualified GPs
* Opportunity to join Symphony Flex, our in-house locum agency with competitive rates

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to equality of opportunity.

Employee benefits include NHS/NEST pensions and salary sacrifice schemes. Details are in the attached poster.

We look forward to hearing from you.
