Mid to senior level Creative Designer/Art Director
Are you passionate about creating next-level visual communications for global b2b clients? Bit of a tech nerd with a fascination for the potential of AI?
Then we want to hear from you.
This is a senior creative role, with scope to really make it your own. As well as being an experienced designer/visual communicator, you’ll be a content creator, a critical thinker, a dabbler in copy, a doer, and very much a change-maker who embraces new tech and tools to get your vision across.
You’ll have c. 4–8 years’ industry experience in a conceptual/creative design role, preferably working for an integrated agency with a focus on b2b clients – and an Art Director's eye for craft.
You’ll be ambitious, curious and have an opinion on most things. You’ll know Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma like the back of your hand. You’ll actively be leveraging AI in your workflow. And if you have opinions on what we should be using, even better.
At bbd, our senior creatives take the lead on project calls – so you’ll be comfortable not just in presenting and articulating ideas, but in building and growing professional relationships alongside the client services team.
Your CV and portfolio will of course be faultless, with tangible thinking and proven results.
But more than that…
We’re looking for someone who’s going to get us excited.
Someone who’ll challenge us.
Someone who’ll grow with us.
Someone looking for a career, not just a new role.
And most importantly, we’re after someone who’s looking not just to shape their own future, but who’ll play an integral part in shaping ours.
What we’re looking for:
* 5 years+ industry experience (and preferably a degree or similar qualification in Graphic Design/VisCom) working on b2b clients
* A killer portfolio – showing a breadth of work and attention to detail across print, display, web, social and video content
* Expert knowledge of the standard industry tools (Figma, Adobe)
* Experience using AI tools like Midjourney, ChatGPT/Dalle, Firefly, Runway etc to help your creative process
* A passion for effective visual storytelling
* Experience planning and directing photo and video shoots (with skills behind the lens a distinct advantage)
* Professional and engaging communication and presentation skills
* A compelling way with words – both copy and presentational storytelling
* Awareness of the commercials: timescales and costs
* Impeccable time and team management skills
* A willingness to share new ideas or knowledge – and to contribute to the overall agency culture
* Resilience in the face of a hard deadline (or a post-deadline pub trip)
What you can expect to be doing:
* Generating, critiquing and producing effective communications ideas to address client objectives matched to specific audiences (eg. b2b)
* Breaking down complex information to produce compelling creative narratives – whether that’s a website product landing page or a brand sizzle video
* Seeking out and evangelising new tools and techniques to elevate your own capabilities – and bbd’s wider creative service offering.
* Working directly with clients to understand their challenges and present compelling solutions.
* Mentoring and inspiring junior members of the team.
* Providing strategic input and oversight of creative teams
* Planning and directing photo and video shoots
What you’ll get out of it:
* The chance to shape your vision of game-changing b2b campaigns for top-tier international clients
* Training budget and time allowance for your professional growth
* All the equipment and software you need to stay on top of your game
* Team and agency-wide events to keep the creativity flowing
* 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 after one year)
* A range of wellbeing and cultural perks
* A competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience)
Sound good? Here’s how to apply:
1. Send us a CV detailing your experience
2. Attach a snapshot of your favourite portfolio work – either a PDF or web link
3. Explain why you think you’re right for the role here at bbd*.
*This last bit could be the difference between an interview and a ‘thanks for your interest, but…’.
