As the Head of School you will design, develop, deliver and sustain an outstanding provision for our Pharmacy students and strive to improve the student journey and experience during their time with the college. Responsibilities include: Develop, deliver and sustain outstanding provision in the school. Design the curriculum delivery in line with the departmental strategic and business planning process. Contribute pro-actively to the business planning process ensuring effective and efficient delivery. Constantly strive to improve the student experience with a view to further extending opportunities and progression for further study internally/externally or into employment. To ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning within the school. Undertake teaching at a level agreed with the Head of Department (up to 200 hours) Manage and be accountable for the performance of all courses within the school. Identify best practice and disseminate this to staff to maximise student learning and professional development including cross curricular development and project-based learning. Work directly with the Quality team to develop and implement appropriate quality initiatives to enhance student experience. Responsibility for the day to day expenditure for the school in line with the budget allocation, such as to ensure the resources are in place to offer students a quality experience. Maximise student enrolments each academic year and achieve planned growth. The line management and professional development of allocated staff, including: managing performance; recruitment and retention; appraisals and AWAMs; target setting and monitoring KPIs; encouraging and facilitating scholarly activity and CPD. Manage the performance of all allocated staff and programmes/courses in the school. Responsible for the deployment, performance management and development of staff. Ensure appropriate records, registers, staff and student timetables are maintained and made available as required by various internal and external audit regimes. Ensuring full staff compliance with all College policies, procedures and systems and report on these via KPIs. A successful track record of teaching and the data to support this Experience of student pastoral care. Experience of successful curriculum design and development. Experience leading teams in evaluating quality and performance and in self-assessment, e.g. annual monitoring and OFSTED/QAA review. Experience of regular engagement with awarding bodies and/or in the preparation of validation documents and in leading teams through formal validation processes. Evidence of ability to manage budgets. Experience managing human, financial and physical resources. Experience of working with employers, e.g. in relation to employer engagement or curriculum enhancement/development. Proven ability to work flexibly and effectively as a member of a leadership/management team.
