We are delighted to share the position of Development Head Chef role at Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust. It offers an opportunity to join our successful and passionate catering team, which provides a professional catering service managing the production of freshly prepared meals within the Catering Services department across 7 hospitals in Greater Manchester. Menu creation will be a key responsibility, with an outlook of 'Food is Medicine'. The role will also oversee the retail offerings within 2 busy retail outlets.
You will ensure adherence to standards, procedures, and processes to produce high-quality food, complying with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation.
As Development Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in developing our in-house service teams to enhance skills and knowledge. You must be a creative chef with high standards who can lead by example and inspire your team to achieve new levels of satisfaction through food development.
Responsibilities include:
1. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders
2. Monitoring and maintaining consistent food standards and quality
3. Ensuring quality control measures and food safety systems are always achieved
4. Exercising strong leadership qualities and detailed knowledge of health & safety
5. Creating fresh food menus and staying aware of industry trends
6. Presenting and serving food in line with Trust standards using innovative methods
7. Participating in HACCP procedures and maintaining accurate records
8. Taking full accountability for daily kitchen operations
9. Managing and developing menus
10. Attending patient engagement and feedback meetings
11. Monitoring production controls impacting financial position
12. Collaborating with Catering Management and performing additional duties as needed
