Responsibilities
* Project management of supply, installation, and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems and related systems.
* Ascertain viability of designs and liaise with G4S System Design or consultants.
* Ensure compliance with technical auditing, quality standards and regulations.
* Compile O&M information for hand‑over and administer relevant engineering paperwork.
* Manage UK customer base; extensive UK travel required.
* Develop and manage site‑specific risk assessments and method statements.
* Attend site progress and specialist subcontractor meetings.
* Provide technical support to the G4S System Design Sales and Engineering teams.
* Maintain company vehicle to high standard.
* Comply with company health and safety requirements and ensure on‑site safety standards are upheld.
* Liaise with customers at the local/site level to ensure satisfaction.
* Represent the company professionally and uphold the highest quality standards.
* Respond to all communications in an appropriate time and use company property responsibly.
* Be highly motivated and work independently with excellent attention to detail.
* Work as part of a team of Project Engineers, covering colleagues on leave.
* Carry out other duties within the remit of a Project Engineer as requested by Operations Management.
* Provide general problem resolution on site.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of experience installing fire detection and alarm systems, refuge systems, WC alarm systems and PAVA systems.
* Experience with Gent by Honeywell Vigilon, Vigilon Voice product range, Baldwin Boxall Refuge System, Scope Paging Systems and Quantec System.
* Experience in customer‑facing end‑user and site‑based environments.
* Knowledge of relevant British Standards for installation and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems and refuge alarm systems.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Computer literate.
* Experience managing electrical contractors and company‑approved subcontractors.
* Working knowledge of BS 5839‑1:2017 and BS 7671 installation regulations.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Well‑organised, initiative‑driven, and able to manage workload.
* Good attention to detail.
Must Have
* Able to pass BS 7858 screening.
