Role 1: Static Security Officer (Gatehouse / Access Control)
Static Security Officers will primarily be responsible for access control, supporting the gatehouse function, and maintaining a secure perimeter. This role suits candidates who are organised, professional, and confident communicating with site operatives, visitors, delivery drivers, and management teams.
Key Responsibilities (Static Security)
- Monitoring and controlling access to site through designated entry points
- Checking identification, authorisations, and access permissions
- Maintaining a professional presence at all times, representing the client and BMSL
- Managing visitor sign-in procedures and ensuring site rules are followed
- Supporting with the control and monitoring of materials entering and leaving site
- Logging and reporting any incidents, issues, or concerns to site management
- Communicating clearly with supervisors and other site personnel when required
- Assisting with general site security procedures and compliance requirements
Skills & Qualifications (Static Security)
- Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) – essential
- Experience within access control, gatehouse, or construction security (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and confident under pressure
- Familiarity with digital access control systems such as Msite (beneficial)
- Basic IT skills for logging, reporting, and maintaining digital records
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow site processes correctly
Role 2: Patrol Security Officer (Foot Patrols / Site Inspections)
Patrol Security Officers will be responsible for conducting regular foot patrols around site areas, monitoring operational zones, and identifying any issues that could impact security, safety, or site operations. This role is well suited to candidates who are alert, observant, and physically capable of carrying out consistent patrols throughout their shift.
Key Responsibilities (Patrol Security)
- Carrying out regular foot patrols across designated areas and zones
- Monitoring key areas including access points, site boundaries, and restricted locations
- Identifying and reporting suspicious activity or security concerns
- Supporting the prevention of theft, unauthorised access, and damage to property
- Completing site inspections and ensuring procedures are being followed
- Reporting hazards or issues to site management where required
- Completing written or digital logs and maintaining accurate records
- Maintaining a visible security presence to support a safe working environment
Skills & Qualifications (Patrol Security)
- Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) – essential
- Experience in foot patrols and site inspection duties (preferred)
- Good physical fitness and stamina, as patrols will be carried out regularly
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with site teams and management
- Basic IT skills for logging and reporting
- Understanding of construction site layouts, boundaries, and operational zones (beneficial)
