Air Personnel are looking for a Project Manager to join their client in either Bournemouth or Farnborough (Hybrid working can be agreed). An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO) in support of work across the Group. This diverse role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, requiring knowledge and experience in various aspects of the Aviation Industry. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in leading, coordinating, and delivering multiple challenging yet rewarding projects, including all aspects of project delivery to transition capabilities to a business-as-usual state.
This role will involve exposure to various aspects of our business, from operations to innovation initiatives, with the responsibility of ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to high standards. The successful candidate will join an innovative team, tackling complex challenges that impact our business growth and success, while driving continuous improvement across the PMO. We seek a driven and experienced Project Manager who can confidently engage at a senior level across the Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and tailor internal processes to meet the specific needs of each SBU. The ability to contribute to bid development and commercial negotiations is highly desirable, as is the ability to build and manage long-term customer relationships.
Responsibilities of a Project Manager:
1. Assist the PMO in delivering projects across the business and act as the focal point for internal stakeholders during planning and initiation phases.
2. Provide robust project governance in line with internal processes and industry best practices.
3. Develop, own, and implement project management plans, schedules, risk registers, and other related tools.
4. Complete internal and external reporting, including schedule, financial, and quality performance.
5. Assist with bid development, providing inputs on cost, schedule, and risk.
6. Support account managers during the business-as-usual phase of contracts.
7. Deliver briefs to senior leadership and assist in preparing briefs and presentations for the Board of Directors.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Significant experience in delivering complex projects, ideally in aviation, manufacturing, or technology sectors.
* Proven ability to work within a matrix organization.
* Ability to apply different methodologies as required, e.g., waterfall vs. agile.
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously without performance impact.
* Experience in commercial and contract negotiations.
* Proficiency with project management software tools, including MS Project.
* Excellent communication skills suitable for diverse audiences, including senior managers and clients.
* Experience building and maintaining professional relationships across operational boundaries.
* Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and occasionally internationally.
* Eligibility to hold security clearance at SC level.
Advantages:

* Formal project management qualifications such as Prince2 or APM PMQ are advantageous.
