Main duties of the job: We are looking for an admin assistant to join our small and friendly team in the Dietetics, Speech & Language Therapy Department. The days of the week we require cover are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays, working 8am to 4pm. The role involves indirect interaction with patients by telephone, booking appointments and outpatient clinics and working with the three other members of the admin team. We are based in Minerva House which is on the SGH site in Tremona Road.

What You’ll Do
* Provide an excellent customer service to patients, relatives/carers and to external agencies.
* Ensure a consistent and effective administrative service is maintained at all times.
* Build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.

* Provide excellent customer service to patients, relatives/carers and to external agencies, including communication that is face‑to‑face, over the telephone and through written correspondence.
* Provide comprehensive administration services and have high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

* Competent IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

We are looking for someone to join our team working Monday to Wednesday each week from 8am to 4pm.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE pass level 4-9 or equivalent standard.
* NVQ2 diploma or equivalent experience.
* Experience of working in a customer‑led environment.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
* Evidence of computer literacy.
Desirable criteria
* Courses/further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development.
* Proficient in the use of hospital computerised patient systems.
* Call handling experience.
* Experience of working shifts.
