We're looking for a skilled Retrofit Supervisor to join our growing Property & Retrofit Services team, overseeing day‑to‑day site operations and ensuring the smooth delivery of projects that make a real difference to residents, communities, and the environment.
About the Role
As a Retrofit Supervisor, you will supervise trade operatives, monitor workmanship, and ensure the successful delivery of retrofit and energy‑efficiency works in line with PAS2030/35/38 standards. You will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer experience, quality assurance, and compliance with safety and environmental procedures.
You will act as the bridge between residents, field operatives, technical teams, and client representatives — ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. Working predominantly in the Essex/Cambridge area
Key Responsibilities
* Team Leadership & Supervision
* Supervise and coordinate skilled trade operatives on retrofit projects.
* Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and monitor performance, conduct, and productivity.
* Support trainees and apprentices through effective guidance and development.
Project Delivery & Quality Control
* Oversee day‑to‑day delivery of retrofit works, ensuring PAS2030/35/38 compliance.
* Assess material, resource, and time requirements for incoming work packages.
* Complete quality inspections, ensuring "zero defects" and timely handovers.
* Maintain accurate site records, job packs, variations, and sign‑off documentation.
Resident & Client Communication
* Act as first point of contact for residents and client officers.
* Resolve queries promptly and professionally, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
* Participate in joint inspections, audits, and handovers.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Carry out regular site Health & Safety checks and comply with all legislation.
* Ensure all environmental, quality and safety procedures are followed.
* Support operational delivery in accordance with CDM and other statutory regulations.
About You
Essential
* Experienced in construction, retrofit, property services, or building trades.
* Strong understanding of domestic property refurbishment or energy‑efficiency works.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple workstreams.
* Full UK driving licence.
* CSCS card holder.
* Confident using smartphones/tablets and basic IT systems.
Desirable
* Experience with PAS2030/35/38 standards and retrofit delivery.
* Energy assessment, building surveying, or retrofit qualifications (DEA, Retrofit Assessor or Coordinator desirable).
* H&S training such as First Aid at Work, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling.
* Experience in social housing or occupied property environments.
