Senior Procurement Officer

Role Overview
Leidos are seeking a Senior Procurement Officer within the newly established Leidos Europe subsidiary, Leidos Supply Ltd, part of the Commodity Support Services (CSS) team. The role provides commercial support and advice to team members and stakeholders through the letting and management of contracts, ensuring professional standards, cost‑effective procurement, and delivery of benefits required by Team Leidos.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure that all commercial activity conforms to EU Procurement Regulations, Leidos Policies and Procedures, and achieves best value for money.
* Participate in the development and implementation of Category Strategies that satisfy LSL requirements.
* Draft and issue ITTs/ITNs, contracts, and manage the procurement process up to and beyond contract award.
* Negotiate contract terms, conditions and prices within delegated/licensed powers for Procurement activity to deliver against the Benefits Realisation Plan.
* Undertake contract/team administration as required.
* Maintain professional standards and provide commercial support and advice to staff, stakeholders and customers.
* Manage contracts within your responsibility by building strong working relationships with contractors, customers and colleagues.
* Assist in setting targets and objectives for LSL and support monitoring of achievement.
* Ensure Commercial MI is accurate, up to date and submitted on time.
* Contribute to developing LSL tools, processes and procedures to support Team Leidos Transformation.
* Engage in Continuing Professional and Personal Development to maintain currency with EU and Commercial Procurement practices and Regulations.
* Mentor junior staff within LSL for their personal and professional development.
* Be trained in, and fully observe, Good Distribution Practice (PGD) obligations and best practices.
Skills Required
* Strong business/procurement/contracting experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work as a member of a team.
* Numerate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Skills Desired
* CIPS Level 4 or above; public sector contracting knowledge and experience (including EU Regulations); knowledge of MoD procurement processes; experience of using e‑procurement tools.
* Full driving licence desirable for supplier visits.
Clearance Requirements
* BPSS pre‑screening required to start.
