Location: West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Telford, Shrewsbury, Stafford, Cannock areas)

Our client is a specialist manufacturer, supplying complex metallic products and assemblies for the automotive industry. This year, they plan several key product launches, continued investment in the production facility, increased volumes, and further growth.
Job Description
* Oversee continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and performance.
* Specify production facilities and capital equipment, and recommend vendor selections.
* Implement manufacturing process improvements to optimise performance and capability.
* Lead machine PFMEA processes for existing and new capital investments.
* Review and improve SOPs, process instructions, process flow, standard operations, and capability.
* Support New Product Development (NPI) initiatives and DFM/DFA.
* Optimise process flow and minimise waste using MTM, line balancing, VSM, and lean methods.
Experience
You should be a competent Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Industrial Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineering Manager with experience in high-volume mechanical manufacturing.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Proven experience leading capital equipment (CAPEX) projects, including specification, cost justification, vendor management, and successful NPI launches.
* Lead PFMEA processes.
* Project management and supplier/vendor liaison experience.
* Experience with production processes such as plastic moulding, stamping, cold rolling, casting, forging, CNC machining, or large automated/robotic assembly.
* Effective communication skills for teamwork and liaison.
* Hands-on problem solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks or projects concurrently.
