The purpose of this role is to supervise operations through effective day-to-day management and engagement of transport colleagues within RTS Kineton & Gosport. The role ensures safety, compliance, service, and cost are effectively controlled. The role holder is responsible for creating a positive working environment that supports operational delivery, maintains legal & safety compliance at all times, and meets JSP/Civil authority regulations.
How you create impact
* Take reasonable care of health and safety for yourself and others, adhering to best practices and legislation to protect the environment and conserve energy.
* Conduct regular health & safety, quality, and environment (QSHE) checks and audits.
* Ensure visitors and driver colleagues understand their safety responsibilities per site and KN policies.
* Complete all safety training requirements and promote a culture of health & safety, colleague wellbeing, and environmental responsibility.
* Work with the Transport manager to ensure driver colleagues receive relevant training and safety equipment is maintained.
* Perform colleague safety observations, hazard reporting, and respond promptly to safety concerns and near misses.
* Ensure colleagues use PPE correctly, conduct regular PPE checks, and replace equipment as needed.
* Conduct site assurance checks, safety observations, communicate safety briefs, and provide positive feedback to foster safety culture.
* Supervise a team of driver colleagues, report to your Line Manager, and ensure effective communication and engagement within the team.

* Experience supervising transport operations, particularly Class 1 to 9 movements.
* Strong leadership qualities.
* Good customer service attitude.
* Results-oriented with high standards and targets.
* Preferably, hold a Manager CPC National Road Haulage Certificate.
