About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team, a part-time (18.5 hours) Family Support Worker with a SEND Specialism.
We work across the Blaby, Oadby & Wigston area and work alongside other agencies such as health, schools, social care and community organisations to support children and their families.
You will support them doing one to one work in the home, or may see them running drop in sessions or groups within our Family Hubs, come and join our team and help improve outcomes for our Children and their Families…..

About You
To apply for this post, you must respond to and evidence the following 7 essential criteria within your personal statement.
1. Helping families to identify their own networks of support from family, friends and their local communities, to ensure they have the help they need to remain resilient and can sustain positive change
2. Delivering time-limited periods of support which may include casework, evidence-based group work, or clinic sessions, to children, young people and families experiencing a range of issues which impact on family functioning and achievement of good outcomes
3. Supporting families to access universal provision and become more self- sufficient to avoid the need for more intensive input
4. To offer a variety of flexible support including drop-ins, workshops and outreach to support families of children with SEND needs
5. To undertake the role of a subject expert within the wider team providing advice to colleagues who are working with children and families with additional needs
6. To support the process of Short Break panel assessments and reviews
7. To provide focused support through a range of methods on behaviours that challenge/behaviours of distress to enable parents to ful fill their parenting role
