Educational Health Care Assistant - SEN Schools
We are currently recruiting Educational Health Care Assistants to support pupils in specialist SEN school settings across primary and secondary age groups. This role involves personal care and classroom support, working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams to ensure pupils with complex needs receive holistic, high-quality care and education.
This position is offered on a 0-hour contract through an agency, starting on a temporary basis. For those demonstrating commitment, reliability, and a good fit with the school, there may be opportunities to transition to a permanent school contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene routines.
* Assist in delivering classroom-based learning and therapeutic activities under staff guidance.
* Promote pupils' physical, emotional, and social development according to their individual care plans and EHCPs.
* Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who may have autism, complex medical needs, or physical disabilities.
* Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Experience in care (e.g., healthcare, residential, or personal care roles) or education (e.g., teaching assistant or learning support) is essential.
* A patient, compassionate, and professional approach.
* Willingness to support personal care and manual handling (training provided).
* Good communication and teamworking skills.
* A proactive attitude and ability to adapt in a dynamic school environment.
