Overview
Jacobs, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. We are looking for Civil Engineers to join our UK Water team to help shape the future of water infrastructure across national client frameworks. Opportunities span from strategic planning and catchment management to feasibility studies, outline and detailed design, and construction and operational support. This role focuses on delivering design leadership and cross-discipline coordination within the Water UK business unit.
Responsibilities
* Provide civil engineering inputs to multidisciplinary projects, either at specific design stages or across full project lifecycles.
* Lead and mentor junior engineers to produce high-quality deliverables in client-facing positions.
* Work across a diverse portfolio of projects and clients, including long-term water resource planning and infrastructure solutions.
* Support end-to-end services alongside construction partners within frameworks such as United Utilities’ AMP8.
* Collaborate with teams to manage projects and ensure disciplined integration across design and execution phases.
Qualifications
* The ability to deliver civil engineering inputs to multidisciplinary projects, either at specific design stages or across full project lifecycles.
* Experience in the water or wastewater engineering sector is preferred, but not essential, as upskilling will be provided for the right candidate.
* Working towards, or at Chartered / Incorporated Engineer status with a professional body such as the ICE or CIWEM.
* Curiosity about emerging technologies and a strong interest in sustainability.
