GSL Education are seeking a passionate SEMH Teacher to join a nurturing and supportive school in Sheffield (S11 area). This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced teacher who can create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students who require additional emotional and behavioural support. As an SEMH Teacher, you will: Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges. Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic progress. Implement effective behaviour management strategies and encourage positive learning habits. Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support each learner’s development. Monitor and report on pupil progress, identifying barriers and celebrating achievements. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and resilience. Requirements for SEMH Teacher: Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Proven experience teaching pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs. Excellent understanding of trauma-informed and differentiated teaching approaches. Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to challenging situations. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
