Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's global business and corporate services partners.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
* Assist in managing compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
* Support technology and risk management teams with legal guidance.
* Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, and associated governance and legal issues.
* Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Balance practical legal advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Deliver presentations and write articles on legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant law firm experience; in-house experience is a plus.
* Strong legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills with quick issue identification and mitigation recommendations.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex files.
* Capable of balancing legal risk management with business growth.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced, global environment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
