Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting their comfort and well-being. Support nurses and healthcare professionals by preparing examination rooms, setting up equipment, and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Monitor patient conditions and report any concerns or changes to the relevant health professional. Maintain accurate records of patient care, treatments, and progress. Assist in the delivery of therapeutic activities and encourage patient participation. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection prevention protocols, and organizational policies. Promote a culture of respect and inclusivity while providing individualized care to patients from diverse backgrounds. Qualifications Previous experience in a healthcare or allied health role is preferred but not mandatory. Certification in healthcare assistance or relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care) is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment. Ability to build strong relationships with patients and colleagues, demonstrating empathy and patience. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow care plans and procedures accurately. Basic knowledge of hygiene and infection control practices. Physically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, transferring, and assisting patients with mobility. Reliable, flexible, and proactive with a positive attitude toward problem-solving and teamwork. Day-to-Day Begin the day by assisting patients with morning routines, including personal hygiene and breakfast. Measure and record vital signs, ensuring accuracy in patient records. Assist with mobility, including helping patients move between their beds, wheelchairs, or walking aids. Provide support during mealtimes to ensure patients receive proper nutrition and hydration. Prepare treatment areas, restock supplies, and clean equipment to ensure a safe environment. Actively participate in team meetings to share updates on patient progress and collaborate on care plans. Engage with patients through conversation, therapeutic activities, or recreational tasks, fostering a comfortable and positive atmosphere. Monitor patient health throughout the day and report any concerns or incidents to the relevant healthcare professional.
