Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Communications
The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a client operating across the Transportation sector, collaborating closely with key stakeholders such as Local Authorities, Train Operating Companies, Network Rail, TfN, and the DfT, to drive positive outcomes.
Location: Manchester (Hybrid working arrangement: 3 days in the office / 2 days WFH)
Role Description:
The Resolute Group is partnering with a Transport governing body seeking a Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Communications. This senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping and delivering the organisations communications, public affairs, and stakeholder strategies across a complex landscape.
The successful candidate will lead internal and external communications, media relations, political engagement, and strategic events. They will serve as a key contact for high-profile stakeholders, including central government, local authorities, private sector partners, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Developing and executing integrated communications and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with organisational goals and public policy priorities.
* Advising senior leadership on communications and stakeholder matters, including media relations, internal messaging, political engagement, and crisis communications.
* Managing communications campaigns, press releases, events, and digital engagement initiatives.
* Overseeing internal communications to ensure alignment across departments such as Operations, Technical, Commercial, Finance, and Project Delivery.
Required Experience:
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
* Proven experience in corporate affairs, public relations, and political engagement supporting policy and programme outcomes
* Prior client-side experience in the public sector, e.g., Network Rail, TfN, DfT, TfL, Train Operating Companies, NHS, Local Authorities, or MOD
