Job Description:
Various start dates available from August 2025.
Ember is the UK's first fully-electric, zero-emission coach company. Launched in October 2020, operating routes like Aberdeen to Edinburgh, Dundee to Glasgow, and Inverness to Thurso, with more routes across Scotland coming soon. We are seeking drivers to work from Wallyford.
We want the best and most professional drivers across Scotland to join Ember. Whether you're passionate about electric vehicles or excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you. We're building a pioneering team committed to doing things differently.
As a growing company with a successful track record, this is an exciting time to join the future of public transport!
Responsibilities
As a driver, you'll be on the front line, responsible for keeping the coach moving and being the main contact for customers needing assistance.
Our Wallyford team will be close-knit and based away from central functions like Engineering. We seek resourceful, motivated individuals who are solution-focused and eager to resolve daily challenges.
Enjoy working with people, take pride in delivering a great experience, help with luggage, keep the coach clean, and greet passengers cheerfully.
We use new technology to enhance customer experience, so openness to learning new systems is essential.
As a small business, we trust our drivers to take pride in their work, including light cleaning duties. We value input on improving our operations, provided it's thoughtful and constructive.
Starting pay is £16.00 per hour with a guaranteed 40 hours/week (£33,280 annually), with overtime likely. After one year, pay increases to £16.80/hour (£34,944 annually). Relief contracts and overtime at higher rates are available.
Additional benefits include free CPC renewal, 28 days paid holiday, flexible holiday planning, up to 10 unpaid days, paid sick leave, progression opportunities, referral incentives, a friendly culture, driving state-of-the-art electric coaches, and contributing to environmental sustainability.
Hours
Ember operates 24/7 across Scotland. Shifts vary, and we provide five weeks' notice for schedules, with opportunities for overtime at short notice.
