Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage a caseload of service users, with a range of diagnoses and needs. They will arrange care, liaise with other services, provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, perform risk assessments, review care plans and ensure these are completed collaboratively and in a recovery‑focused manner.
They will offer evidence‑based clinical decisions and treatment options, participate in setting up and running groups within the team, and act as a senior member of the wider multidisciplinary team, supporting junior colleagues and other disciplines.
The role includes acting as a clinical supervisor and appraiser for occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) and overseeing the occupational therapy interventions delivered by OTAs.
Support the learning and development of students, taking on practice supervisor and assessor responsibilities.
Act as the duty worker on a regular basis (weekly), with telephone contacts and face‑to‑face appointments as appropriate, and be confident in risk assessment and management.
Offer
Part‑time (30 hours, 0.8 WTE) position at band 6, joined to the Core Team West in Wakefield. The team works with individuals who have moderate to severe mental health needs in a community setting.
