We’re looking for a skilled Leading Hand Fabricator/Welder to join our team. This full-time role offers long-term career progression, leadership responsibilities, and a safety-first environment.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and mentor a team of welders, fabricators and apprentices
* Oversee workshop operations and project delivery (including allocation of daily tasks)
* Provide hands on support in heavy fabrication and welding
* Perform welding and interpret fabrication drawings (FCAW, MIG, MMAW)
* Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards
* Coordinate logistics and assist with site scopes as needed
* Collaborate with the Workshop Supervisor to meet deadlines and quality expectations
What You’ll Bring
* Australian recognised trade certification in Fabrication/Boilermaking
* Experience in trailer, truck body or heavy equipment manufacturing
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team
* Safety-focused mindset and knowledge of high-risk equipment legislation
* Ability to pass weld tests and read/develop drawings
