Job Overview
Your role will be a patient‑led contact officer for Equality and Diversity, working within the Patient Experience team. You will deal with Trust wide queries from colleagues, provide support and advice on patient equality issues, and lead on Equality workstreams such as Accessible Information Standards and the Trust Equality Delivery System.
Responsibilities
* Deal with Trust wide queries from colleagues around patient equality issues and provide support and advice.
* Lead on Equality workstreams such as Accessible Information Standards, Equality Delivery System and drive progress against the Trust Equality Objectives.
* Oversee the Trust Equality Analysis for policies and the Interpreting and Translation service and advise staff on accessing services.
* Engage with communities to identify barriers to accessing health care, remove these barriers and reduce health inequalities.
* Support the Associate Director – Patient Voice – Relations ensuring the Trust has information and advice and action is taken to address inequality in policy, employment, service delivery and partnership working.
* Maintain and identify best practice as often identified by new legislation.
* Represent the Trust and liaise with partnership organisations locally and regionally on equality issues.
* Work as part of a dynamic team to enhance service user and carer experience, by expanding opportunities for their input, developing a toolkit of resources, supporting teams to collect and use information for continuous improvement (including PALS/FFT advisors).
* Support research and collaborate with others to develop and deliver research protocols, using quantitative and qualitative outcome measures.
