Job Description
The Company
My client is a large, complex and fast‑paced organisation undergoing significant transformation across their Employee Relations function. The business is operating in a politically sensitive landscape, with senior leaders fully engaged in improving ER culture, reducing case volumes, and strengthening internal capability. This is a confidential interim assignment positioned at the heart of meaningful organisational change.
The Opportunity
This is a high‑impact role for an experienced ER professional who thrives in challenging environments and enjoys taking ownership of complex casework. You will step into a business at a pivotal moment with a high volume of active ER cases, a huge appetite for strong guidance, and a clear mandate to stabilise and elevate the ER function. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders who value expert advice, autonomy and pace. For the right person, this assignment offers visibility, influence, and the opportunity to shape how ER operates moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of a varied and high‑volume ER caseload, including legacy and complex cases.
* Provide confident, pragmatic advice to senior leaders and managers, acting as a trusted ER partner.
* Navigate a highly political environment with professionalism, resilience and clarity.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with trade union representatives, handling negotiations and sensitive discussions with ease.
* Drive timely resolution of cases through effective prioritisation, investigation and case strategy.
* Support junior members of the ER team and the ongoing improvement of ER case management processes and reporting.
* Use systems such as iTrent (advantageous, not essential) to strengthen data accuracy and workflow efficiency.
* Identify patterns, risks and themes, feeding insights into senior leadership to improve employee experience and organisational outcomes.
Summary
This confidential assignment is ideal for an ER specialist who enjoys stepping into fast-moving, high‑pressure situations and delivering decisive results. You’ll bring credibility, resilience and strong stakeholder skills, with the autonomy to set pace and make a visible impact. If you thrive in environments where your ER expertise is valued and you can genuinely help reshape culture and process, this is a standout interim opportunity. Please note this is initially a 6 month role so applicants will need to be available at short notice.
