Electronics and Control Engineer (Portable Ultrasonic NDT Equipment) Location : Derby, UK Salary : £40,000 - £50,000 per year We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electronics and Control Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and technical support of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment, with a focus on electronic systems and production processors. Key Responsibilities: Develop and test electronic systems, including design and schematic drawings, for portable NDT equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create hardware solutions for analogue, digital (FPGA), and computer-based ultrasonic testing systems. Provide high-level technical support, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis for the product range. Support installation and commissioning of equipment on customer sites. Ensure compliance with EMC/EMR testing and approval processes. Maintain accurate technical documentation for compliance with CE marking and other relevant standards. Manage hardware change control systems and collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure compatibility. Drive innovation in NDT products through continuous improvement and prototyping. Essential Requirements: HND/Degree in Electronics or a related field. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electronics design, including schematic design, PCB layout, and mixed-mode simulation (e.g., using Altium). Strong experience with microprocessor systems (e.g., ARM, FPGA, PIC, Arduino). Proficiency in reading and creating electronic circuit diagrams. Previous experience with calibration, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems. Experience in EMC/EMR testing and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Desirable: Knowledge of NDT technologies, particularly in rail inspection. Additional Information: Willingness to travel (approx. 25%) required. Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
