Offer description

North West Surrey Short Stay School (NWSSSS) is looking to appoint an inspirational full or part-time Teacher to join the staff team.

NWSSSS is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) across two sites, Pyrford and Kingsway, serving Woking, Runnymede, and Surrey Heath for learners aged 11-16 who have had difficulty maintaining a place in mainstream education. The successful candidate would work across both sites.

WHAT WE OFFER:

* A school dedicated to developing every child's potential, regardless of ability or background.
* A competitive salary with SEN Allowance.
* A friendly, professional team eager to develop and learn.
* Excellent CPD opportunities through mentorship and coaching.
* Employee Assistance Programme & Pension Scheme.
* Commitment to staff wellbeing and work/life balance.
* Exciting career opportunities.
* Supportive leadership team.

Our professional staff work with parents, partner schools, the LA, the Management Committee, and health agencies to support each student's growth.

At KS4, students study for GCSEs, BTECs, and Functional Skills, complemented by pastoral programs tailored to individual needs. KS3 offers a broad curriculum to prepare students for their next educational step.

We enable students to understand and overcome their learning barriers and reintegrate into suitable education settings.

The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, flexibility, and creativity to teach multiple subjects, with a good understanding of Special Education, Mainstream Education, and/or Pupil Referral Units.

Applicants should understand what it takes to support vulnerable learners both pastorally and academically.

The successful candidate will recognize the challenges faced by today's youth and have the vision to elevate teaching and learning. You will motivate students, engage parents, and raise aspirations to maximize opportunities and outcomes.

This is a permanent position; start date to be discussed.

If you are a committed, driven, and passionate teacher with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach, we would love to hear from you.

Closing date: Friday 12th September 2025

Interviews: Week commencing 22nd September 2025

Visits to the school are welcome. For further discussion, please contact Miranda Younger, Head of School. Details are in the candidate information pack.

Safeguarding Statement

An enhanced DBS disclosure with Children's and Adults' Barred List check is required. Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We welcome applications from all under-represented groups.
