Care to join our Facilities Management team as a Facilities Assistant? You will carry out a range of duties associated with professional cleaning, catering, and patient support activities. The position demands respect for patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
You will:
1. Communicate and work with hospital staff, patients, members of the public, external contacts, Facilities Manager, Matron, ward manager, ward staff, and other colleagues in the Trust.
2. Work independently within the schedules prepared by the facilities management team.
3. Make decisions regarding the order of work to fit in with area procedures, priorities, and patient needs.
4. Carry out routine and ad-hoc cleaning duties, including infection control procedures, following the Trust Cleaning Method Statement Manual.
5. Prepare and provide food delivery services to patients, visitors, and staff as requested, adhering to policies and food safety guidelines including HACCP.
6. Provide collection and delivery services for relevant departments.
7. Clean and safely store all patient support equipment, including medical gases, and replace as required.
8. Transport patients within the site, including handling cadavers when necessary.
9. Handle linen and perform laundry duties for wards and related areas.
10. Assist with unloading supplies, proper storage, and distribution to departments.
11. Use all PPE as required, including gloves, aprons, masks, headwear, and other items.
12. Report pest infestations, equipment faults, and repair needs.
