Care Assistant (Care Companion) – Nights
Shift: 8pm–8am nights, up to 44 hours per week (including alternate weekends). Salary: £29,080–£33,519 per annum (pro rata) dependent on experience. Location: Acer Lodge, Eleanor Street, Blackburn, BB1 1JD.
Role Overview
As a Care Companion at Acer Lodge, you will support residents in their daily lives, building relationships and ensuring their comfort and well‑being. You will be integrated into the home environment, providing personal care and contributing to a warm, compassionate atmosphere.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Support individuals with intimate washing, dressing, grooming (shaving, hair style, nails, teeth).
* Represent the Acer Lodge brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents and visitors.
* Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
* Perform any additional duties assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.
Skills, Qualifications and Abilities
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Desirable experience in a similar care environment.
* Flexible, patient, positive caring attitude, and a genuine “people person.”
* Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; ability to learn new systems quickly.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self‑motivated and capable of working independently.
