Plant & Logistics Manager

Role Overview
The Logistics Manager will oversee the movement of personnel, plant, goods, and equipment across the site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness during both the early contractor involvement (ECI) and engineering & construction contract (ECC) phases.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all plant/equipment hire and logistics requirements on-site.
* Maintain and inspect plant registers.
* Utilize IT systems, especially DMS, for managing bookings of materials, call-off orders, and equipment.
* Coordinate with plant suppliers and ensure compliance with site standards and delivery requirements.
* Manage plant breakdown repairs and replacements to prevent project delays.
* Work closely with project teams, supply chain, and health and safety teams.
* Lead and manage direct reports involved in logistics.
* Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and standards.
* Coordinate logistics activities with contractors and site teams, including daily briefings and meetings.
* Maintain an asset register for equipment like MEWPs and lifting gear.
* Assist in developing logistical plans and reporting on logistics performance.
Your Profile
* Current and valid CSCS card with experience managing contractors/subcontractors.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Proven track record in construction or logistics management, with a focus on performance improvements.
* Commitment to sustainable plant procurement.
* Qualifications such as SMSTS or similar are preferred.
* First Aid and Mental Health First Aid qualifications are advantageous.
* Ideally located in West Cumbria.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Full UK driving license (note: site transport not provided).
* Experience working in a nuclear environment is preferred.
