Rail & Civil Engineering – Civils & Building Asset Management
Location – Tamworth

Due to continued growth and CP7 contract award in the NW&C region, we are recruiting an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join our North West & Central regional team, based in Tamworth, dedicated to managing a large number of day to day project remits in the Southern section of the route including rail civils and building minor works / asset management.
Business Unit
A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of Infrastructure Projects and Framework contracts in rail and non-rail, civil engineering environments. Works within the region include bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels, structural steel installations, moving structures etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the North West region, whether infrastructure projects or maintenance works around the region working with a variety of clients and tier 1 contractors.
The Role
As Project Manager or Senior Project Manager you will be directly responsible for the daily management of various rail and civil engineering projects within our portfolio work in the region, predominantly the management of Civils & Buildings Asset Management projects within the Asset Management framework. It requires the delivery of remits ranging from circa £5k up to £2m. You will be responsible for leading successful contract delivery, by ensuring that the site team are fully appraised of the contract parameters and have the capability and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives.
The works are fast paced and high in volume and requires an experienced commercial candidate with the ability to handle works in this type of fast pace environment. Day to day responsibilities would include:
* Involvement/input in projects at all stages from pre-qualifying and tendering through to completion.
* Ensuring that the site team are fully apprised of the contract parameters and have the capability and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives.
* Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:
o All applicable legislation
o The Terms and Conditions of the contract
o The Contract Health and Safety Plan
o The Contract Quality/Environmental Plan
* Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
* Control and management of sub contract resources to the highest levels of safety, quality and efficiency.
* The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
* Ensuring that, in conjunction with the Project Delivery Team, changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
* The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Framework Manager.
* To identify business development opportunities.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Project Manager in a rail and civil engineering maintenance environment.
* Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
* PTS
* SMSTS
* Experience as a Project Manager in a rail contracting environment.
* Experience in rail working on civils associated projects / frameworks
* Asset Management / Maintenance framework experience on civils and buildings projects
