Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to progress into a more advanced classroom role?
GSL Education are seeking confident and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Newcastle.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established TA or qualified HLTA who is confident leading lessons and supporting pupil progress across different key stages. You will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, delivering pre-planned lessons, and providing targeted interventions to raise attainment. Flexible day-to-day and long-term opportunities are available, with both full-time and part-time options.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you have to:
* Deliver pre-set lessons and lead whole-class teaching when required
* Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups
* Assist with planning and preparing learning resources
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers
* Support pupils with SEND, EAL or additional needs
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Contribute to assessment and intervention strategies
* Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements:
* Level 4 TA or HLTA qualification or substantial classroom experience
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Experience supporting pupils across primary or secondary settings
* A flexible and adaptable approach
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
