Senior Civil Engineer The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer who wants genuine technical influence, exposure to meaningful projects, and the opportunity to shape how work is delivered within a well-established Civil & Structural consultancy. You will play a key role in the design leadership and delivery of civil engineering projects across Northern Ireland and beyond, working with a respected team known for technical quality, pragmatic design and long-standing client relationships. The Role You will be responsible for the civil engineering design and delivery of projects across a diverse portfolio, spanning both the public and private sectors. Projects typically range from £1m£20m, with occasional larger schemes up to £40m, offering a mix of technical challenge, scale and variety. Key responsibilities include: Leading and supporting the civil engineering design and delivery of infrastructure and development projects Managing the full project lifecycle from concept and planning through to detailed design, construction and completion Producing high-quality civil designs, calculations, drawings and specifications in line with relevant UK and Irish standards Selecting appropriate materials and systems with consideration for strength, durability, buildability, sustainability and cost Providing technical input during construction, including site inspections, resolving design queries and ensuring compliance with design intent Preparing clear, concise technical reports covering inspections, design changes and recommendations Working collaboratively with architects, structural engineers, contractors and statutory bodies to ensure coordinated delivery Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, contributing to a strong technical culture and knowledge sharing within the team About you You will be a confident, technically strong civil engineer who enjoys taking ownership of work and is comfortable engaging with clients, contractors and internal teams.
