Sheridan School is recruiting a Deputy Head Teacher to lead our Pastoral Support team.

We are seeking an outstanding relationship builder with a passion for providing children and young people with special needs the best possible care and support. The ideal candidate will be energetic, morally driven, and committed to ensuring pupils feel safe, valued, and respected within a nurturing environment. You will establish clear aims and objectives for pastoral development, set policies to achieve them, and inspire your team to uphold high standards of wellbeing and behaviour, securing the best outcomes for every child.

Sheridan School offers an integrated programme of education and therapy for young people with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, including complex disorders such as Autism. The school caters to students from Year 4 to Year 11 across Primary, Secondary, and ASD provisions.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting young people with autism, emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD, and other complex needs, particularly within SEN school settings. The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualities:

Communication: Effective communication is vital to understanding and meeting the needs of our young people. Building positive relationships and teamwork are essential.

Organisation: Strong organisational skills are necessary to manage resources, ensure safety, and lead staff effectively through inspection processes.

Attentiveness: Being attentive to the individual needs of each young person is crucial, as no two days are the same.
