Overview
Weekend Support Worker - Residential Care Service, Part Time. Hours: 7 - 14 hours per week (discuss whether this is both days or one day and whether it’s every weekend or alternate weekends). Early shifts start at 7:30am and late shifts finish at 9:30pm. Salary: £12.88 to £13.44 per hour, depending on qualification level (£24,774 to £25,866 per annum FTE, pro rated based on hours agreed).
We’re looking for weekend Support Workers to join our team at The Grange at Bookham, supporting adults with learning disabilities. We operate a small group living community onsite with residents who have moderate learning and physical disabilities who require support to live as independently as possible 24/7, including support with personal care.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal and basic care support after full induction and training.
* Help residents make informed choices regarding healthy living and wellbeing, including physical activity, social and community opportunities.
* Support with appointments, work/volunteering placements, and occasionally assist with trips or holidays.
* Perform domestic activities such as laundry, shopping, and food preparation; assist with medication after training.
* Work as part of a team, coordinating with Senior Support Workers, Team Leaders, and Positive Behaviour Champions to maintain high standards of Person Centred care and support.
* Participate in the extensive training programme and develop skills and knowledge; opportunities for career development through Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeships in Adult Social Care and progression to Senior Support Worker or Shift Lead roles.
