Description
As a Lead Network Engineer, youll contribute to and manage the selection, creation, and maintenance of technologies required to meet the needs of our customers, strategic targets, and architecture outcomes. Youll also develop products using modern engineering practices and tools.
Well look to you to collaborate with product owners to develop product roadmaps and manage the lifecycle of the team's products. As well as supporting engineered products to respond to customer feedback and new feature requests, youll resolve production issues and help customers consume our products.
Responsibilities Include:
* People manage a team, developing skillsets and capabilities to support strategic outcomes
* Develop technical skills through continuous learning and development
* Support strategic observability, maintaining a strong awareness of service, creating operational views of data, and supporting the development of targets for the team to deliver against
* Provide operational support for product and service issues, acting as technical escalation for the technologies supported by your team
* Liaise with SysOps leadership, product owners, and other stakeholders to maintain and deliver the workload backlog for the team, with a focus on introducing automation and removing inefficiencies
* Experience of DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines would be advantageous, as would experience of Python, Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell.
Skills:
* Experience of using observability tools and techniques with the ability to use data, information, and user sentiment to continuously improve solutions
* In depth public cloud vendor knowledge covering GCP, AWS, and Azure,
* Extensive experience of networking technologies such as such as LAN, WAN, MPLS, BGP, wireless, load balancing and firewalls, ideally including F5 and Fortinet
* Experience of tooling such as Grafana, Thousand Eyes, SolarWinds, Prometheus, CloudWatch, Splunk, and ServiceNow
* Strong collaborative communication skills for articulating technical concepts clearly to stakeholders
