We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Low Voltage Cable Joiner to join our dynamic Norfolk team at our Brooke Depot (NR15 1HJ). This role will be carried out around Norfolk.
This position offers a competitive salary. The standard hours of work are 40 per week, Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm.
In this role, you will support the Norfolk Streetlighting account by undertaking low-voltage (LV) cable jointing tasks for new connections, transfers, and disconnections on Distribution Network Operator (DNO), Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) networks, and private networks. The role ensures safe, efficient installation and maintenance of LV cables in compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
What You'll Do:
Cable Jointing & Termination: Perform LV cable jointing (live and dead), terminations, and testing on underground networks up to 1,000 volts.
Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Identify and rectify cable faults promptly to restore supply.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere to Model Distribution Safety Rules, Electricity at Work Regulations, and NERS operational procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate as-laid drawings, job sheets, and compliance reports.
Equipment & Tools: Operate vehicles, plant, and tools safely, ensuring daily checks and reporting defects.
Flexibility: Participate in out-of-hours emergency call-outs and weekend/night shifts as required. Why Join Us?

What You'll Bring:
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Cable Jointing. (essential)
Valid DNO LV Cable Jointing Authorisation and LV Switching & Linking certification. (essential)
First Aid and Manual Handling training. (essential)
CSCS/CPCS card and SHEA Power certification. (essential)
Experience with jointing on various cable types (PILC, XLPE, EPR).
Knowledge of highway electrical installations and utility plans.
Strong understanding of electrical safety and SHEQ principles.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Comfortable working in confined spaces and outdoor environments.
