Controls Engineer (Contract)

£24.00 Per Hour
Our well-established client based in Cirencester is looking a Controls Engineer on a contract basis. The Controls Engineer will be assisting the engineering team to improve documentation processes for controls systems and support ongoing operations.
Controls Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
* Read and create wiring diagrams for controls systems
* Update and maintain all documentation related to the control systems
* Develop detailed documentation for control system work procedures
* Using various electrical design software such as AutoCAD
* Create manuals and other documentation to support new and existing team members
* Work with the engineering team to gather information for ongoing projects
* Ensure all documentation meets quality control standards
* Stay informed with all industry developments and best practices in control systems
* Occasionally may have to travel to support on-site documentation activities
Controls Engineer Ideal Candidate:
* Currently studying or completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or similar
* Understand Control Systems, being able to interpret and read wiring diagrams
* Knowledge with network connectivity and machine to machine communications (beneficial)
* Strong technical writing skills to create clear documentation
* Proficient in using electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, Eplan, Creo, Visio and similar tools
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written with strong organizational skills and being able to collaborate effectively across different levels of the business
* General knowledge and understanding of the operation and maintenance of diesel engines and electrical motors
* Experience with software systems including setup and troubleshooting
Controls Engineer Working Hours and Benefits:
* Monday – Friday, 37.25hrs per week - flexible working hours between 08:00 – 16:30
* Flexibility to work from home 1/2 days a week
