We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to drive forward a major transformation programme within our New Hospital Programme.

As Associate Director of Nursing within the Frimley New Hospital Programme, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of patient care. Leading nursing input into service transformation, you will collaborate with senior clinical and operational leaders to design and implement best practice and innovation for our new hospital and retained/expanded estate at other sites.

Main duties of the job

* To propose, evaluate, plan and organise the provision of nursing, midwifery and AHP services to be provided in the new hospital and associated developments.
* Responsible for substantial financial aspects that relate to nursing, midwifery and AHP workforce within the £1.9 billion new hospital business cases.
* To provide leadership and professional advice support and guidance to the senior FHFT NHP team.
* To be a visible professional role model providing strong, facilitative and effective clinical leadership for high quality care.
* To collaborate and communicate effectively with the national leadership team for the new hospital programme and to work with peers in other schemes to share learning and best practice.
* Work collaboratively with Workforce team to analyse and update workforce plans and requirements of departments taking account of corporate strategy and national trends and develop a Workforce Strategy to meet future needs.
* To develop, plan and organise testing of new roles and models of care using the available technologies and utilise learning to inform the business cases.
* Lead on professional policy making and strategic development of nursing, midwifery and AHP related services. Ensure that corporately agreed policies, strategies and priorities are reflected in developing services and within models of care in the new hospital.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
* Diploma/Degree in Nursing/Health related subject.
* Educated to Masters level.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* FX Yellow belt.


Desirable criteria

* Teaching qualifications.
* FX Green belt.


Experience

Essential criteria

* A minimum of five years post registration experience.
* Previous experience at senior nursing level undertaking strategic developments and implementing new services.
* Experience of leading transition to new facilities.
* Ability to develop and introduce new methods of working, including monitoring and evaluating systems.
* Experience of multi‑professional team working.
* Record of successful large scale change management.


Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

* Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
* Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation, and externally both at regional and national level.
* Strong management, planning, and organisational ability.
* Evidence of professional leadership.


Desirable criteria

* Able to develop and compile business cases for capital and service Development.
