CNC Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector join our dynamic client team - a Somerset-based engineering company with over 40 years of industry experience.
Job type – Full time, permanent
Location – Winfrith, Newburgh (Outside of Dorchester)
Working hours – Rolling / Rotating Shift Patterns - 4 day working week: Monday to Thursday 6am to 5pm OR Monday to Thursday 8am to 7pm
Salary – £30k per annum (up to £35k depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
● Quality Inspections: Utilising state of the art equipment, you will conduct thorough quality inspections of both incoming & outgoing components and raw materials - 1st offs and patrolled inspections.
● Non-Conformance Reporting: efficiently raise and close offnon conformance reports to maintain the integrity of our production processes and ensure lessons are captured and learned from.
● Sample Inspection: conduct sample inspections and provide detailed reports to leadership / the team to guide decision making and quality improvements.
● ISO 9001:2015: ensure the integrity of our QMS (Quality Management System) is maintained / improved and documented as required by the standard to ensure successful recertification.
● Other responsibilities include (but not limited to);
o Able to use a range of hand tools to accurately inspect components
o Completion of concession or rejects notes / reports
o Completion of FAIRs and necessary documentation
o Raising ‘Engineer Change Notices’ (ECNs) when required
o Collaborating with the production team to troubleshoot product issues
o Updating and controlling production drawings (once trained)
o Providing technical assistance to various departments
o Maintaining accurate component information in our MRP/ERP systems
o Updating inspection history log with new information and images
o Adhering to the company’s T&Cs, policies and initiatives
o Knowledge of CMMs beneficial but not essential
o Able to work from & interpret technical drawings
o Liaison with suppliers on quality related issues
o Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated & documented
Requirements
● Be detail oriented & have a passion for quality
● Be confident in investigation and disclosing non conformities
● Demonstrate excellent communication & interpersonal skills
● Previous ‘quality inspector’ experience beneficial but not essential
● Mechanical engineering background / knowledge advantageous
● Be competent, or willing to be trained in using various inspection measurement tools such as;
○ Micrometres
○ Callipers
○ Roundness measurement
○ Surface texture
