To ensure outstanding learning and outcomes for students, we ensure our applicants work in line with the Teacher Standards' Teachers' standards - GOV.UK The Deputy Headteacher will play a crucial role in supporting the Headteacher in the overall leadership and management of the school. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, leadership experience, and a passion for fostering a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Formulate the aims and objectives of the school. Establish policies for achieving these aims and objectives. Manage staff and resources to achieve school goals. Monitor progress towards the achievement of the schools aims and objectives. Support the self-evaluation of leadership, teaching and learning, curriculum and identify priorities for improvement. Oversee assessment and data, and whole-school timetabling. Designated Safeguard Lead Line-Management responsibilities. If the Headteacher is absent, the Deputy Headteacher will deputise, as directed by the governing board. The Deputy Headteacher will also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a headteacher, as set out in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD). Demonstrable experience of successful line management and staff development. Developing teaching and learning; curriculum; assessment and data; whole-school timetabling. Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to set targets and identify weaknesses. Understanding high-quality teaching, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve. Understanding of school finances and financial management. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others. Ability to build effective working relationships. Recognised record of successfully managing change and leading on whole school initiatives. Desirable National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL).
