We have an in-person culture, building Aurora from our offices in London, New York, and Los Angeles.
Our entire engineering team works in person, 5 days a week, out of our London office in Belgravia.
We also offer 15 flexible remote days per year.
The role
We're hiring a Founding Mobile Engineer (Flutter) to work closely with the CTO and Product Manager on Aurora's mobile app - a next-generation lifestyle operating system.
You'll place a conversational, daily-use product in the hands of the world's most discerning, high-impact individuals, influencing and optimizing their global lifestyle.
This is a hands-on role. You'll own and ship core parts of the app end-to-end, from implementation to release. You'll have real influence over technical decisions, standards, and how the product evolves.
Performance, reliability, and polish are critical. Small UX issues are noticeable, and fixing them matters.
We're building Aurora to be multi-modal and voice first - you'll have a part to play in developing Aurora across devices, so all members of the org (partners, advisors, assistants) can use Aurora simultaneously.
You'll report directly to the CTO. Over time, this role can grow into a more senior position as the team scales.
What you'll do
* Build and ship core mobile features in Flutter
* Work closely with product and design on implementation details
* Own performance, stability, and user experience on mobile
* Integrate with backend APIs and third-party services
* Help define and maintain engineering standards for the mobile app
What we're looking for
Experience
* 5+ years building mobile applications
* 3+ years of production experience with Flutter
Product and UI quality
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to implement clean, consistent, user-friendly interfaces
* Care about how the app feels in daily use, not just whether it works
Responsiveness and performance
* Experience building apps that work well across screen sizes and devices
* Comfortable profiling and improving Flutter performance
* Experience with smooth animations, fast startup times, and efficient resource usage
Integration and reliability
* Experience working with backend APIs
* Comfortable integrating third-party services
* Careful, structured approach to testing and debugging
Collaboration
* Able to work closely with product, design, and backend engineers
* Clear communicator, especially around trade-offs and constraints
* A want to be in-person, near the customer
