Finance Manager Remote (with some Ayrshire travel to office) Location: Primarily Remote home based (with initial and ongoing travel to Ayrshire: approx. 1 to 2 times per month) Salary: c£45,000 (flexible for the right candidate) Full-time, Permanent role About the Organisation Our client is a growing, multi-site organisation operating in a regulated services environment, backed by long-term institutional investors. To support this next phase, they are seeking a Finance Manager who is comfortable combining hands-on financial operations with increasing responsibility over time. The Opportunity This role will work closely with the Finance Director and will take ownership of core day-to-day finance operations. It is ideally suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail, is happy rolling up their sleeves, and is motivated by the opportunity to step up as the business grows. While the role is predominantly remote, the successful candidate must be able to travel to the Ayrshire office initially and then approximately once or twice a month for collaboration and planning. Key Responsibilities Core / Must-Have Responsibilities Hands on previous End to end in-house payroll processing experience is essential PAYE, NIC and pension submissions Year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds Liaison with HMRC and pension providers Full ownership of month-end close Posting journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll, depreciation) Balance sheet reconciliations Revenue uploads and reconciliations Maintenance of robust working papers Supplier invoices and payments Processing, coding and posting invoices Running payment schedules and managing cash commitments Handling supplier queries and aged payables High-Value & Developmental Responsibilities Supporting ESG and non-financial data collection Responding to audit, bank and investor information requests Ad hoc analysis and Excel-based reporting Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and controls Longer Term Scope Finance systems administration and process documentation Automation and efficiency improvements across payroll, AP and month-end Assisting with management accounts preparation, budgeting and forecasting (some elements may remain with the FD) About You You must have proven experience in a hands-on finance role covering payroll (this is essential), month-end and transactional finance Comfortable owning both “core” finance tasks and more routine activities, not just reporting and analysis Strong attention to detail with a well-organised approach Confident working independently in a remote environment while collaborating closely with a Finance Director Ambitious and motivated to grow with the business and take on increased responsibility over time Strong Excel skills: systems and process improvement experience is an advantage Why Apply?
