Our client is a leading provider of comprehensive construction and building services across the UK, specialising in transforming and creating spaces across commercial, retail and education sectors. They have delivered over 250 projects across the UK and are expanding their building services division to enhance reach and capabilities within the construction industry.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join our client based at their regional office in Bradford, West Yorkshire. You will oversee building services packages across a diverse portfolio of projects in education, commercial, and residential sectors with values between £100k and £5m. Responsibilities include negotiating contract terms, monitoring project progress and performance, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies, resolving contractual and technical challenges, and maintaining detailed records. This role requires close collaboration with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure mechanical systems are executed to high quality standards, within established timelines and budgets.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
* SMSTS
* Valid CSCS / JIB Card
* First Aid (desirable but not essential)
Experience:
* Extensive background in mechanical engineering and knowledge of mechanical principles
* Previous experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role for a Building Services or MEP subcontractor
* Proven history of overseeing multiple projects across sectors including education, commercial, and residential with values between £100k - £2m

Key Responsibilities
* Assign and manage contractors
* Apply in-depth mechanical knowledge to projects
* Prepare, review, negotiate, and implement contracts
* Provide regular reports to internal and external stakeholders
* Coordinate terms across client and supplier relationships
* Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and company policies
* Implement and supervise health & safety auditing on-site
* Track project budgets and ensure expenditure control
* Oversee development and review of mechanical system designs and drawings
* Assess contract-related risks and develop mitigation strategies
* Communicate contractual changes to stakeholders
* Manage contract modifications and assess impact on scope, timeline, and budget
* Coordinate mechanical installation projects to meet client and corporate expectations
* Monitor contractor compliance and address performance issues
* Ensure contract deliverables meet quality standards
* Identify and resolve issues during contract execution
* Monitor installations to comply with industry standards and building codes
* Coordinate tenders, cost estimation, and project development in preconstruction and construction phases
* Oversee all aspects of mechanical contracts, including review, negotiation, and finalization
* Maintain detailed contract documentation and provide management with performance reports
* Act as primary point of contact for clients regarding mechanical services
