Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
Location: Bolton
Pay/Day rate/Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
Hours of Work: Full-time
Type: Permanent
Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)
We are hiring for a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator who is fully qualified and experienced in commercial and reactive construction projects. This is a permanent role for an established contractor delivering a range of works across the UK. You will play a key role in supporting the commercial team by managing cost planning, procurement, and financial control from project inception to completion.
Duties of a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
In this role you will be working in the Commercial team to maintain cost efficiency and project profitability. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for new projects.
• Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and scopes of work.
• Managing procurement of materials and subcontractors in line with project requirements.
• Producing and managing tender documentation and contract variations.
• Administering interim valuations, final accounts, and cost/value reports.
Skills and experience of a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
As a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you need to have experience with:
• Project cost management from tender stage through to final account.
• Commercial reporting, budgeting, and financial reconciliation.
It would be beneficial to the Quantity Surveyor / Estimator role if you also had:
• Proficiency with digital job management platforms such as Big Change.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience across both reactive maintenance and large-scale project environments.
