Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant (Maternity Cover)
We’re seeking a full‑time Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant to join our internal finance team based in Taunton. This is a temporary position covering maternity leave for a minimum period of 12 months.
Responsibilities
* Accurately manage the purchase ledger day‑to‑day.
* Check invoices, prepare supplier and ad‑hoc payments, process staff expenses.
* Handle any payment or invoice related queries in a timely and professional manner.
* Ensure invoices are approved, coded, and posted properly.
* Liaise with suppliers and colleagues.
* Place orders for ad‑hoc purchases.
* Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details.
* Bankline administration.
* First point of contact for relevant enquiries.
* Undertake account reconciliation work.
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous accounts payable experience.
* Flexible, proactive approach.
* Commercial awareness.
* Ability to work on your own and as part of a small team.
* Strong IT skills including Excel, SAGE, and ideally Practice Engine.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
