Recruitment and Automation Team Leader, Medical Workforce
Job Summary
University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is looking for a dedicated and innovative Recruitment Team Leader to lead the introduction of new automated processes and support the Medical Workforce Manager in delivering a proactive recruitment service. This role requires strong technical skills, a robust understanding of recruitment law, and the ability to manage a team of Medical Workforce Officers.

Main Duties / Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage the performance of Medical Workforce Officers to deliver a quality end‑to‑end recruitment administration service in line with Trust standards.
* Authorise contracts of employment where required and conduct regular audits of recruitment activities to ensure compliance with NHS employers’ pre‑employment checks and other legislation.
* Develop, test, and maintain HR automation practices and Power Platform applications to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and enhance the Trust’s digital capabilities.
* Produce relevant reports using Microsoft packages and support automated flows & dashboards.
* Act as specialist adviser on right‑to‑work queries and certificate of sponsorship administration.
* Maintain electronic staff records (ESR) and Trac systems, ensuring all recruitment information is up to date.
* Support the Medical Workforce Programme Manager in working with Trust managers to provide a proactive recruitment service.
* Manage active establishment for non‑training grade and SAS posts, including rotational arrangements.
* Plan and oversee recruitment programmes for regular rotational placements, ensuring consultant engagement.
* Act as the escalation contact for query and complaint resolution, developing actions to prevent recurrence.
* Analyse recruitment data, identify improvement areas and present findings to the Programme Manager.
* Undertake project work such as data collection, reporting and documentation as directed.
* Line‑manage Medical Workforce Officers, including appraisals, sickness absence monitoring, and annual leave coordination.
* Deputise for the Medical Workforce Manager during leave or illness.
* Provide general assistance to the department to ensure smooth operation.
* Maintain current knowledge of recruitment-related law.
* Undertake any additional duties within the role’s capability.
