> Description Employer description: Moorcroft Group PLC are a leading UK consumer debt recovery specialist who provide consumer and commercial Services in the UK for clients across key financial sectors. Established in 1985, they now employ 450 staff in their three offices. Overview: They are currently seeking an ambitious individual to become a Software Developer Apprentice working in conjunction with the IT department and supporting the development team. You will be joining a small team of 12 existing developers and the company’s former Software Developer Apprentice will be appointed as your mentor to support you whilst on your apprenticeship. You will become skilled in the following coding languages. C#, Visual Basic (VB), SQL, Java, Kotlin, Flutter and COBOL. You will be given real world projects to work on a see the full development life cycle. You will also be involved in incidents to aid your learning with real world problems. Responsibilities: Developing in vb.net, C#, Android and Flutter, a new app that has been released in Android and Apple market. App development in the following languages SQL, Kotlin, .NET and Flutter. Following the development life cycle. Designing simple software solutions to meet user requirements using tools and techniques. Dealing with incidents. Project manage your own workload. Collaborating to meetings with the development team. Desirable skills: Ability to code in various languages. Understanding of development life cycle and core development concepts. Excellent IT skills, willing to learn and be eager to take your knowledge to the next level. Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal. Good organisation skills. High attention to detail with good problem-solving skills. Genuine interest in IT and building a career in software development. Ambitious with a strong work ethic. Ability to work well in a team environment. Self-sufficient with the ability to work of own initiative with minimal supervision. Entry requirements: The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider. OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test. OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test. OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test. You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
