Overview
Sanctuary Personnel has a new permanent position available for an Assistant Team Manager within the Fostering Support & Development Team, based in Medway. This full-time role offers a salary of up to £54,130 per annum.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support the Team Manager in leading, managing and coaching a team and in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people through high-quality social work practice.
* Support the team to help children reach their full potential and to live within their family when it is safe to do so.
* Improve outcomes for children by participating in effective partnership working and engaging with a range of organisations, statutory and voluntary, to deliver services to children and young people.
* Deputise for the Team Manager, supervise staff, and provide practical and emotional support with oversight from the Team Manager.
* Line management responsibility for 3–4 social workers, delivering high-quality supervision to review case work, reflect on practice, and support ongoing learning and development of the team.
* Complete and review performance development plans for supervisees to enhance personal and professional development and staff retention.
* Chair strategy, review, planning, professional and network meetings as appropriate.
* Maintain accurate records in line with Data Protection legislation (GDPR) and use Medway Council recording systems to promote effective case management.
* Be the first point of contact for support and advice for supervisees and attend meetings on behalf of the manager when they are unavailable (e.g., performance clinic).
* Undertake other activities as agreed by the Head of Service, consistent with the nature of the job described above.
Requirements
* A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation; registered or eligible for registration.
* Good working knowledge of relevant legislation.
